Casting The Discworld
I love the Discworld books. They’re funny, touching, action packed and just amazing fantasy stories.
The TV adaptations, however, leave a lot to be desired. Needless changes to story, leaving out details for seemingly no reason, weird characterisations, it was just never as good as it could be.
So on a lark, I decided to try to think up a “dream” cast list for an adaptation with no budget. Depending on the book, of course, not all of these characters would be needed, but I tried to come up with a list of core characters that feature in a lot of movies. Here’s what I have so far:
Vetinari - Liam Neeson
Sam Vimes - Sean Bean, or Bruce Willis.
Carrot - Chris Hemsworth
Angua - Karen Gillan/Scarlett Johansson
Granny Weatherwax - Helen Mirren
Nanny Ogg - Meryl Streep
